Includes employer NSSF, matching Housing Levy and NITA, so the total never exceeds your budget.
Run payroll for meWhy use cost to company
A salary offer is only part of what an employee costs. The employer also pays NSSF (up to KES 6,480), a matching 1.5% Housing Levy and the KES 50 NITA levy. Starting from your total budget stops you promising a salary you cannot afford and helps you compare candidates fairly.
Split the gross into payslip lines with the PAYE calculator, add extra hours with the overtime calculator, and read what employers must pay in the NSSF, SHIF and Housing Levy guide.
Common questions
Does it include bonuses or leave pay?
No. Add them to the budget separately if you plan to pay them.
Why is the gross lower than my budget?
Because the employer contributions are part of the cost and must come out of the same budget.
Do employees get all of the gross?
No. NSSF, SHIF, the Housing Levy and PAYE are deducted first, leaving the take-home pay shown.
