How capital gains tax works
Capital gains tax is charged at 15% on the net gain from selling property in Kenya, including land, buildings and marketable securities. The gain is the selling price less what you paid, the costs of selling and improvements. There is no allowance for inflation. Pay before the transfer is registered.
